The night was cold and the stars, illuminating the forest behind him, moved following their unusual qualms.
His eyes, one a shuttered blind and the other a cloaked glass, could only see through lenses of lies.
As he walked, thick smoke screens oscillated slowly and the moon, reflecting the ocean between them, was humming a nearly invisible silence.
Jérôme Nadeau (b. 1985) is an artist living and working in Montréal, QC. Jérôme’s work look at the object of photography rather than seeing through it. His work filters through many transformative processes, creating a cryptic suite of investigation which explores the limits engendered by the interpretation and expectations that we have with regard to images. Jérôme Nadeau completed an MFA at Concordia University in 2016 and he also attended the Photography MA program at the Valand Academy in Sweden. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions and group exhibitions at Galerie Nicolas Robert (Montréal, 2019), Galerie René Blouin (Montréal, 2018), Leonard and Bina Ellen Gallery (Montréal, 2016), Parisian Laundry (Montréal, 2016), Battat Contemporary (Montréal, 2016), among others. He is the founder and co-director of soon.tw, a contemporary art gallery and publishing platform dedicated to the production of artist books. Jérôme Nadeau is currently an Artist In-Residence at Concordia University in Montréal.
